Swingin‘ in the Rain – Levels and dance roles

Our workshop pass includes Lindy Hop classes for two different levels (Beginner and Intermediate) and one Open level class. For Newbies we offer taster classes before the parties.

• Beginner (everybody leads, everybody follows): You have regularly attended at least one Tuesday class series at Swingin‘ Aachen or have otherwise acquired previous knowledge in both dance roles (lead and follow). You have mastered some simple 6- and 8-count figures in both roles and no longer have to think too much about your feet. You want to learn about musicality and expand your repertoire with new steps.
• Intermediate (fixed dance roles): You dance Lindy Hop regularly and are experienced in social dancing. You switch effortlessly between 6-count and 8-count in your favourite role and can also lead or follow slightly more complex figures. A higher learning speed is no problem for you and you still feel comfortable with faster music. You want to improve your technique and discover your own dance style with a deeper understanding of the music.
• Open Level: This level is open to everyone. However, you should have a sense of rhythm 😉
• Newbie: You have never danced swing before. You want to learn the basic steps so that you are ready to dance along at the party.
